Am y tro cyntaf erioed mae Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru yn llwyfannu cynhyrchiad o un o ddram\u00e2u enwocaf Shakespeare mewn pabell\u2026\u2026..a hynny ar faes Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mae Y Storm<\/em>, sef addasiad newydd gan y bardd Gwyneth Lewis o The Tempest<\/em>, yn ran o \u0174yl Shakespeare Y Byd (World Shakespeare Festival) y Royal Shakespeare Company a G\u0175yl Llundain 2012, sef rhaglen gelfyddydol y Gemau Olympaidd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bydd yn cael ei berfformio, mewn cydweithrediad \u00e2 Chanolfan Mileniwm Cymru, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru, Pontio a Citrus Arts, ar faes yr Eisteddfod ei hun gyda\u2019r perfformiad cyntaf (rhagddangosiad \/ preview) ar Nos Fawrth 07 Awst 2012 am 5:30pm, ac yna Nos Fercher \u2013 Nos Wener 08-10 Awst am 7:30pm a Dydd Sadwrn 11 Awst am 2:30pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mae aelodau\u2019r cast yn cynnwys Llion Williams<\/strong> yn y prif ran, Prospero, Kai Owen<\/strong> fel Caliban a Meilir Rhys Williams<\/strong> fydd yn chwarae rhan yr ysbryd, Ariel. Mae\u2019r cast hefyd yn cynnwys cyn enillydd Gwobr Goffa Richard Burton, sef Gwydion Rhys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bydd hefyd i\u2019w weld 18-21 Medi 2012 ar safle\u2019r sioe yng Nghaerfyrddin a 02-06 Hydref ar Stad y Faenol ym Mangor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mae\u2019r addasiad newydd yma yn cynnwys cerddoriaeth fyw wedi\u2019i gyfansoddi yn arbennig a gwaith corfforol herfeiddiol byd y syrcas gan gwmni Citrus Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meddai Elen Bowman, Cyfarwyddwr Y Storm<\/em>: \u2018Mae\u2019r ymarferion dros y bedair wythnos ddiwethaf wedi mynd yn hynod o dda ond mae\u2019n gyfnod heriol iawn i\u2019r actorion a\u2019r criw artistig gan fod Y Storm<\/em> yn llawn agweddau cyffrous o syrcas, dawns, cerddoriaeth ac ychydig o hud a lledrith!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Storm At The National Eisteddfod<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time ever, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru will stage a production of one of Shakespeare\u2019s most famous plays in a purpose built tent\u2026on the National Eisteddfod of Wales field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y Storm<\/em> is a Welsh language adaptation by Gwyneth Lewis of Shakespeare\u2019s classic The Tempest<\/em>, and it is part of the World Shakespeare Festival and the London 2012 Festival, the cultural programme of the Olympic games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be performed, in association with Wales Millennium Centre, National Eisteddfod of Wales, Pontio & Citrus Arts on the National Eisteddfod field in Llandow, Vale of Glamorgan between 07-11 August 2012. There will be English surtitled shows on Wednesday & Thursday 08-09 August at 7:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the cast include Llion Williams<\/strong> as main character, Prospero, Kai Owen<\/strong> (Torchwood) as Caliban and Meilir Rhys Williams<\/strong> will play the ghost Ariel. The cast also includes a former winner of the prestigious Richard Burton Memorial Prize at the Eisteddfod, Gwydion Rhys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will also be performed at Carmarthen between 18-21 September 2012 and the Vaynol Estate, Bangor between 02-06 October 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new Welsh translation includes live music that has been especially commissioned and the physical element of circus by Citrus Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elen Bowman, Director of Y Storm<\/em> said: \u2018The rehearsals have gone very well over the last four weeks, but it is a very challenging piece for all involved as Y Storm is full of exciting elements such as circus, dance, music and a little magic!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
